Massive ‘Spartan Stadium’ Letters Now Up For Auction
More chances for you to own a piece of MSU football history! Spartan Stadium is undergoing renovations for the first time since 2005, and lots of fun memorabilia has been going up for auction via the MSU Surplus Store.

MSU Memorabilia Up For Auction
Recently Sparty fans got a chance to bid on giant helmets from the scoreboards, and now the massive "Spartan Stadium" letters are up for grabs. (There was Bosco Stick Stand on the block too—the listing didn't explicitly state it's from the stadium... but that's my best guess.)

If you're not familiar with the MSU surplus store, its goal is to rethink the way the university disposes of used items. This keeps stuff out of landfills and helps keep the university green. Anything that can't be reused gets recycled. So far, the program has saved 13,000,000 pounds of material from going to the landfill.
How Big Are These Letters?
Now, lets take a look at these letters from the scoreboard. Each is seven feet tall! All put together, "Spartan" is 35 feet wide and "Stadium" is 37 feet wide. There are two sets up for auction.

Now what exactly would you do with these gigantic letters? Folks in the comments on a Facebook post from the MSU surplus store have some ideas, like just plopping it in your front yard or placing it on the roof of a barn. One wishes the letters were sold separately so he could buy one... after convincing his wife he needed it.
Or, as one of my coworkers suggests U-M fans could snag one to pull off the ultimate prank.
