The Detroit Lions are off to a 1-1 start in 2026, and their first two games have highlighted a clear contrast between their offense and defense. The offense has been rolling, scoring 31 points in both games, while the defense has struggled to slow opponents down. Detroit is also averaging 25 first downs per game, which ranks second in the NFL.

The Lions’ defense has had a rough start to the season, giving up 71 points and more than 900 yards through the first two games. Even more concerning, Detroit has allowed 63 first downs already, tying for the second-most through two games in NFL history. Needless to say, there’s plenty of work to do on the defensive side of the ball.

It’s still early, and there’s plenty of time for the Lions to get things cleaned up on defense. If they can turn things around, fans can keep enjoying the games at their favorite local bar, cold drink in hand.

The Birch Lodge sounds like a cozier spot to catch the game, but it sounds like it’s becoming a popular choice. In a follow-up post, one person joked, “Shhhh! It’s already getting hard to find a seat there for games.”

It’s too bad Uccello’s doesn’t have the buffet anymore, because you can bet people would be lining up out the door to watch the Lions while loading up their plates. Honestly, even a losing season probably wouldn’t keep fans away from a good Lions game and an all-you-can-eat buffet!

Stella’s is getting some love from the locals, too, with a few people recommending it as a great spot to catch a Lions game.
