But first, let me take a selfie.

Nowadays, it doesn't matter where, if an opportunity presents itself for a great selfie, the majority of us grab at it. So why not embrace the opportunity to take a bunch of selfies and rack up those Instagram likes at Michigan's first "selfie museum."

If you aren't familiar with the concept it's basically an influencer's dream come true. I went to something similar in Chicago a couple years ago and basically there are different rooms and areas that are elaborately decorated while some rooms are a way to be immersive and interactive, but the whole point is to take lots and lots of pictures. Here's one example of the one I went to.

The Pose Experience just opened in Southfield and the three women behind the museum told ClickOnDetroit that a difficult 2020 inspired them to open it.

I believe that you can make a moment in the moment and sometimes you need a good distraction to get your mind off of everything that’s going on around you

The Pose Experience offers 10 different stations that they describe "out of this world" and where you can "create your own experience." These stations include: a donut wall, a garden wall, a pink "boss lady" office space, a "dream closet" that makes you wish was actually inside of your house, and a Venetian rose bath.

In a few months some of the rooms will be changed to offer a variety and with the hopes of working with local artists to help curate rooms.

Tickets are $28 for admission and give you 45 minutes to explore the space and take your pictures. The Pose Experience also offers up a private rental with a group of up to 10 people for one hour and can book special events. In addition to just pure joy, the women say that their museum is a good way for businesses or individuals to increase their social media reach.

The Pose Experience is located at 15618 W. 10 Mile Rd. in Southfield and is open seven days a week from 12p-9p.
