Battle Creek Principal Saves 9-Year-Old From Being Abducted
Teaching and working in Michigan schools are among the most important roles in our society. One principal became a hero by stopping an attempted abduction of a 9-year-old child.
Michigan Teachers and Staff Should Be Paid More
In Michigan, entry-level teachers typically earn between $41,000 and $50,000 annually, while more experienced educators average about $69,000 per year. K–12 public school support staff generally earn significantly less, with baseline pay around $36,000 annually.
Many Michiganders believe teachers and school staff should be paid more because of their profound influence on children’s lives. Higher pay could also help attract and retain more talented educators, ultimately giving students even greater opportunities for success.
