This weekend marked the first weekend of ticket sales for members at Meijer Gardens, and they've made it tough for the rest of us by selling out ten shows.

It's usually average for a few shows to sell out for the Summer Concert series at Frederick Meijer Gardens before the general public can get a crack at them, and this year was no exception.

Local Spins is reporting that ten shows sold out by Sunday morning after people flocked to the Gardens or online to pick up tickets for the opening of pre-sales on Saturday, April 27.

Shows already sold out include Foreigner (August 11), Styx (August 9), Three Dog Night (July 11) and The Temptations with the Righteous Brothers (July 28).

Other shows to well out were Sarah MacLachlan, O.A.R., Michael Franti and Spearhead, Cake, Amos Lee and the Old Crow Medicine Show.

The lesson learned here is that the most prized friend you can have this time of the year in Grand Rapids is one who has a Frederick Meijer Gardens membership card.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on May 11.
