Meat Vending Machines are a Thing, and There’s One in Kalamazoo County

Push a button, get a steak. A refrigerated, meat vending machine is operating in Kalamazoo County.

Wood TV 8 reports that Barrett's Smokehouse installed the machine earlier this week outside D&R Sports Center on West Main in Oshtemo Township.

The machine, which accepts cash and credit cards, dispenses brats, burgers, jerky, steaks, bacon, pulled pork, smoked fish, and more.

According to a Facebook post from Barrett's, the machine is stocked daily and will automatically shut off it's over the correct temperature, to ensure the freshness of the meat.

Barrett's found the vending machine at a trade show. They previously had a location near D&R Sports and thought it would be a good spot for it.
