Arrested in a Doghouse? Yep, That Really Happened
It’s pretty common to find yourself in the doghouse with your significant other, but getting arrested in an actual doghouse? That’s something you don’t hear about every day. Yet, it actually happened.
Getting in the Doghouse
Almost everyone has found themselves with his significant other at some point. Sometimes, all it takes is saying the wrong thing at exactly the wrong time to turn an otherwise good day into a serious case of the doghouse blues.
It’s not just guys who wind up in the doghouse. Women can find themselves there, too. Of course, being “in the doghouse” is just a figure of speech. Unless you happen to have a seriously oversized doghouse, you probably wouldn’t expect to find a person inside one, much less someone getting arrested while there.

Police Find Wanted Man Hiding in a Doghouse
WZZM-13 reported that a 33-year-old Battle Creek man allegedly assaulted a man and a woman, leading to an hours-long standoff and a shelter-in-place order. Both victims suffered facial injuries, and the woman also sustained a significant head injury after allegedly being struck with a blunt object.
Sheriff’s deputies established a perimeter after learning the suspect was still inside the home and could be armed. Deputies used a drone to search the house but were unable to locate him. A K-9 team was then brought in to search the property and surrounding neighborhood.
The K-9 unit eventually located the suspect hiding inside a doghouse. He was arrested and charged with felonious assault, non-aggravated assault, and resisting and obstructing law enforcement. He is currently being held at the Calhoun County Jail.
