To the Mackinac Bridge Authority's credit, it is very aware of this and has a program in place that lets you pay someone to drive your car across the bridge for you.

The Mackinac Bridge Driver Assistance Program is a 24/7 service for all drivers, available on both sides of the bridge, for only $10The Mackinac Bridge Authority claims that around 2,500 people use the service each year, a minuscule number considering 4.5 million people crossed the bridge in 2025 alone.

Still, the fact that this program even exists is honestly super cool and reassuring that the option is there. Aside from the generous price, you have to fill out a simple liability waiver and allow a dashboard camera to record the crossing. If you're going to cross the bridge anytime soon, remember that you could have a personal chauffeur do it for you.
