A New Shopping Destination Downtown Grand Rapids

A new women’s boutique called Lovely La Vie officially opened its doors on May 1 in the former Show Salon space on Monroe Center. I was just talking with my family recently about how downtown could use more shopping options, especially clothing boutiques. Honestly, I don't remember the last time downtown had a women's boutique! So seeing this pop up feels like perfect timing.

The shop specializes in women’s clothing, jewelry, and accessories, with a focus on helping shoppers find pieces that feel a little more personal and unique.

Owner Sarah says opening the boutique has been a longtime dream after spending years working in retail and visual merchandising for major companies.

“Hello!! I’m Sarah owner of Lovely La Vie and I cannot wait to open and meet so many of you finally!” she shared online before opening. “I’ve been in the retail world my entire adult life as a visual merchandiser with some big named companies but was ready to work for myself. My goal is to create a space you feel comfortable being yourself and letting your individual style shine!”

Early shoppers already seem impressed by what the boutique is bringing to downtown. One customer described the store as having “a good mix of elevated basics, trendy finds, and unique pieces that actually stand out,” adding that they found items they hadn’t seen in other local boutiques.

Hours and Address

The store is open at 40 Monroe Center NW Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sundays from noon to 4 p.m., and closed on Mondays.

As more new businesses continue planting roots downtown, spots like Lovely La Vie are giving people even more reasons to spend an afternoon exploring the city!
