Each year 8th grade students at Riley St. Middle School in Hudsonville have the opportunity to take a year-end East Coast Trip. The trip is filled with many learning opportunities as well as lasting memories for all of the students who attend.

In total, the trip costs $166,000 which comes out to about $1,500 per student. The students and families rely solely on donations and fundraisers to help offset the cost, and this year a few local businesses stepped up to help out the cause.

The folks from Ohana Dance Company and Fusion IT, Inc. stepped forward to make sure that these kids will have an experience that they will never forget.

On the trip, the students will visit the site of the Flight 93 National Memorial, Gettysburg, Arlington National Cemetery, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Smithsonian, historic Philadelphia, Times Square, One World Observatory, a Broadway show (Alladin), and Hershey Park.

That's quite an action-packed seven days!
