Lakeview Schools in Battle Creek Closed After Bomb Threats
Lakeview Schools are closed in Battle Creek on Monday following threats made on Facebook.
WZZM-13 reports that Battle Creek police are investigating, and at this point have not found the threats to be credible.
Threats to detonate bombs and shoot students and staff were posted Sunday to the Facebook page of a 12-year-old Battle Creek girl.
Police searched both Lakeview Middle and High School and found nothing suspicious.
The investigation is ongoing.
Lakeview School District posted the following to it's Facebook page:
Lakeview School District will be closed tomorrow, Monday, March 28, as the Battle Creek Police Department and district administration work to determine the validity of a threat posted to social media on Sunday evening. No students or staff are to report tomorrow. A call will be sent to all parents and staff at 4:30 a.m. and the closing information will be made available to the media immediately. Parents and staff will receive updated information once the investigation is complete."
