What Are Gel Bullets?
Anytime I hear the word bullet, I think of a real gun that unfortunately has been used in way to many school shootings across the country, including right here in Michigan.
In this case "Gel Bullets" are also known as gel balls, gellets, or water beads, are small, soft projectiles used as ammunition in toy guns called gel blaster.
While most gel blasters look like a toy, some of them can look very similar to a hand gun or a rifle.
The girls mom shared with Fox 17 how scary this situation was to her saying:
"I know there's a lot of people out there saying it's not a real gun... slap that kid on the wrist. Well, what if it was? My story would be different right now. She would not be here. That's a hard pill to swallow."
Even though the 13-year-old boy used a gel blaster he could face some serious charges including possession of a weapon in a school zone, reckless endangerment and disturbing the peace at a school.
