Gun Lake Casino shared the exciting news on social media that a player on the Dollar Storm slot machine hit the progressive jackpot for $502,526.70.

The winner chose to remain anonymous — and I can’t say I blame them.

With a windfall that big, you might suddenly find long-lost friends and relatives coming out of the woodwork asking for a “loan.”

Brian Decorah, Senior VP and General Manager at Gun Lake Casino, told WZZM 13,

“This is the second time in the last five months that we’ve paid out over a half-million dollars to one of our local players.”

The other player won $514,378 on a Dollar Storm slot machine after betting just $1.25.

I can’t even imagine what either of these two winners were thinking when the machine started flashing, the sounds kicked in, and everyone around them realized they’d hit it big.

I’ve made some generous “donations” to the slots at Gun Lake Casino myself — though I’ve had a few nice wins of around $100, too. I’ve even seen some big jackpots hit in person.

A friend of mine back in the day loved video poker, and more than once when we went to Gun Lake together, he walked away with $10,000 in winnings.
