Before you go thrift shopping this week, you're going to want to hit the ATM because all Goodwill Locations in the Greater Grand Rapids area are cash only and have temporary hours for the rest of this week. As part of being cash-only, the stores are offering no returns as well. This announcement was made on Facebook.

It's been a tough week for Goodwill around GR, and this is just one more pothole in the road. On Saturday, the 14th, the Goodwill of Greater Grand Rapids (which covers Mecosta, Kent, Isabella, Ionia, Montcalm, and Ottawa counties) Facebook page announced that all stores would be cash-only.

Then, on Sunday, on top of being cash-only, it announced that the outlet store would be closed for the day, revealing that all stores are experiencing technical issues, and it isn't known when things will be up and running. It seems those issues were not sorted by Monday, and instead, Goodwill has decided to remain cash-only until March 20th.

What That Means For You

It means you'll simply need to pay in cash. Since returns are not being accepted at this time, one commenter said workers are extending the 7-day return window, allowing for returns once things are up and running again.

Goodwill of Greater Grand Rapids hasn't said anything about not accepting donations during this time, so you should be more than okay to continue doing so, since donations don't require any tech. If something changes, we will let you know ASAP.
