Veterans Are Important All Year Long
Many veterans who served our country and laid their lives on the line for our freedom are often forgotten long after they return home. Veterans returning home face a variety of challenges, including physical and mental health issues like PTSD, anxiety, and depression, along with economic difficulties such as unemployment.
Social and emotional challenges are also common, such as an identity crisis due to the loss of structure and purpose, and a sense of alienation or disconnection from family and friends.

Veterans Day is a U.S. public holiday on November 11 that honors all who have served in the United States Armed Forces, both living and dead. This holiday specifically pays tribute to the service and sacrifice of all veterans, and is something all Americans can agree on. Rather than just thank a veteran for their service, there's more we can do, and not just for one day, but all year long.
Help A Hero: Nominate A Veteran Now On The GRD App!
979 GRD has partnered with Veteran Roofing & Exteriors to help a veteran each month, but we need your help. If you know a veteran who could use a hand around the house, a ride to the V.A., some groceries, a driveway shoveled...whatever they need, we need to know who they are.
Adali Ladd is an Army veteran and the owner of Veteran Roofing & Exteriors, and he will select a veteran each month in West Michigan who could use a helping hand. Now you can nominate an area veteran you know who needs someone to reach out.

979 GRD and Veteran Roofing & Exteriors will highlight a veteran each month who was nominated, and will continue through all of 2026, but we can't do it without your help, so nominate an area veteran below.
