Lions Coach Campbell Deserves An Oscar For This Applebee’s Ad

The NFL season is almost here and the Detroit Lions are looking to build on an impressive season where they made it all the way to NFC Championship.

A big reason for the teams success is Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell who arrived in Detroit in January of 2021.

In his introductory press conference, he emphasized a new gritty and resilient culture, saying;

We're gonna kick you in the teeth... and on the way up, we're going to bite a kneecap off".

This speech has set the tone for the lions ever since.

During his first season in 2021, the Lions struggled, starting with an 0-10-1 record. However, they managed to secure their first win against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 13, finishing the season with a 3-13-1 record.

The 2022 season marked a turning point for the Lions. After an initial 1-6 start, Campbell led the team to a remarkable turnaround, winning eight out of their last ten games to finish 9-8

In 2023, Dan Campbell lead the Lions to their first division title since 1993 and their first playoff win since 1991. The team also reached the NFC Championship game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Because of the Detroit Lions success on a national level people are taking notice including restaurant chain Applebee's who featured coach Dan Campbell in their newest ad.

This ad made me laugh and I was actually impressed with how well Coach Campbell did. Hopefully Campbell can lead the Lions to a Superbowl Championship this year and star in a few more commercials too.
