UPDATE: The 40-year-old woman charged with 3 felonies for leaving the scene of an accident is Brandy Sue Jones who appeared in a Stanton courtroom today. Jones who is on parole tested positive for meth the day after the hit-and-run, her bond has been set a $1 million.

I cannot even fathom what the three families of the teenage boys who were struck by a careless hit-and-run driver have been going through these past few days and my heart goes out to everyone affected by this tragedy.

14-year-old Jamison Lafferty and two other teenage boys were walking down Wise Road around 9:30 pm Tuesday, August 8 when a driver hit all three boys killing Lafferty and putting the other two in the hospital.

Lafferty was pronounced dead at the scene while the other two boys were sent to Helen DeVos Children's Hospital. There has been no word of the extent of the two teens injuries but as of now, they are still in the hospital.

The night of the accident the Michigan State Police had a rough description of the alleged vehicle that hit the boys saying it was a dark-colored Volkswagen Jetta. The MSP got this out while all media outlets were using all their resources to spread the information.

By Thursday morning the MSP had narrowed the description of the vehicle to a dark blue or purple 1999 to 2005 VW Jetta and had announced that had identified a person of interest. Because the MSP were still continuing their investigation they continued to urge the public to provide any info they may have regarding the hit-and-run.

According to WOOD, MSP has arrested a woman they believe was involved in the hit-and-run crash that happened near Greenville killing one teen and injuring two others. The name of the 40-year-old woman charged has not been released. The woman is facing charges of failure to stop at the scene of a crash when at fault causing death and 2 counts of failure to stop at the scene of a crash resulting in impairment. The woman will be arraigned in court Friday afternoon.
