If You Attended Bike Time & Rebel Road, Better Get Tested
Muskegon's Bike Time and Rebel Road motorcycle rallies are a great time but if you attended this year, you better get tested for COVID-19.
Muskegon Bike Time and Rebel Road are two motorcycle rallies that took place simultaneously July 15-18. These events have gone on for years, minus 2020 because of the pandemic. This year both went on as planned but unfortunately there have been a cluster of COVID-19 cases linked to both events seeing how people who go to one of the events, usually pop over to the other.
According to MLive, 16 COVID-19 cases have been connected to the four day motorcycle event. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services are urging all attendees and anyone who worked at the event to get a COVID-19 test immediately. If you think you were exposed, you should immediately quarantine until your test comes back negative.
Bike Time was singled out in the press release and that might be because both events were originally one and it was called Bike Time. The city of Muskegon split from their original partners for Bike Time and created their own version of the event that was later called Rebel Road.
Regardless of which event you attended, whether it be Rebel Road or Bike Time, the health department is asking that you get tested and if you have not been vaccinated, you should get vaccinated if your test is negative. Attendees from both events bounce back and forth which increases the odds for those who are unvaccinated in catching the coronavirus.

Bike Time and Rebel Road are not the first gatherings in July to report COVID-19 cases, the Faster Horses Country Music Festival have also reported 66 cases from the event that was held July 16-18 at the Michigan International Speedway near Brooklyn.
If you have been at any of the events above and you have been vaccinated or unvaccinated, you should get tested immediately. The symptoms usually show up anywhere between 2 and 14 days after contact from an infected individual. Here is a link that lists the symptoms to watch out for.
