Today is a day the city of Detroit has been prepping for many weeks. Today's NFL draft, being held in Detroit for the first time, has thrust our city into the spotlight in a way that many have not seen before. This spotlight has led to the city getting a bit of a facelift with a new sign, and now our state governor is getting in on the hype train too.

NFL Draft

The Lion's stellar season was arguably the best story to come out of the NFL last season.  As a result, the NFL is bringing the NFL Draft to the city of Detroit. Governor Whitmer Gets In On The Action

To commemorate the hype around Lions Draft Day, Governor Whitmer took to X (formerly Twitter) to show off her art skills by free-hand painting the Lion's logo. Her commentary throughout the 45-second video is pretty entertaining, but it's the final product that is the most worthwhile part of the video.

Her painting probably won't win any awards, but it's nice seeing such public support for the event from Governor Whitmer. The NFL Draft live in Detroit kicks off tonight, April 25th, at 8 pm on ESPN and ABC.
