How to Celebrate Valentine’s Day in Grand Rapids
Valentine's Day is only a short time away so if you haven't thought about what you're going to do to celebrate, there's still time to make plans for you and your lover.
If you're looking for something different to do, Grand Rapids has a lot to offer that you'll enjoy whether you're in a relationship or single. Okay... maybe it can be a little lonely to do these things on your own but if you are unattached, invite a friend to go along with you on one of these fun date ideas.
Go Out to Eat
Obviously, I have to start with food. Most couples are looking for a great place to eat and some restaurants even created a special menu for Valentine's Day.
If you want a guaranteed *dessert* after dinner, check out the most romantic restaurants in West Michigan and start making those reservations!
Take a Cooking Class
Since we're already on the topic of food and it's the way to a
person'smy heart, try a cooking class with your significant other.
This is a good option if you still want to eat good but are looking to do something other than sitting a restaurant. Cooking is an intimate experience so get spicy at the following places that are offering classes for couples.
- Sur La Table
- The Local Epicurean
- Downtown Market (Valentine's Day sold out but check out other classes offered this month)
Take a Carriage Ride
What can be more romantic than strolling through Downtown Grand Rapids in a horse-drawn carriage? Bonus: you don't have to walk in the cold. Just cuddle up next to your love and enjoy the ride.
- Classic Carriage offers 1/2 hour and one-hour long rides around downtown.
- The Common Gentry Carriage Co. offers different [romantic] packages.
