I don't mean to exclude women in sports, yes, there are plenty of ladies who love sports and will travel to cities that hold major events. I am referring to men who primarily travel to big events like the Indianapolis 500, the Super Bowl, The Final Four, and every major championship event like baseball, hockey, football, and basketball.

You have all these men coming to town all at once, mix in some alcohol and party atmosphere and things can develop into something else.

Sex workers and sex traffickers know that men flock to these major sporting events and so they flock to these sporting events. Even strippers will travel to clubs in their area for the same reason but to get money legally.

The NFL Draft is in Detroit April 25 - 27, 2024. This means hundreds of thousands of football fans will ascend the Motor City's hotels which means sex workers and traffickers will also be coming to town in an attempt to cash in on lonely men.

To combat the influx of sex workers and traffickers that will be getting rooms at area hotels in Detroit for the NFL Draft, hotel workers are receiving training to be able to identify sex trafficking and tip off the police.

According to WXYZ, the Michigan Restaurant and Lodging Association held a "No Rooms for Human Trafficking" training seminar that teaches hotel workers about spotting sex workers, sex traffickers, and forced labor.
