Festive Food and Drinks You’ll Love

You’ll also find plenty to eat and drink, from warm mugs of gluhwein, cider, and hot chocolate to Dutch favorites like stroopwafels, speculaas, and banket. Local vendors dish up hearty soups, sandwiches, sweet treats, and Saturday brunch specials—so you can grab a bite while browsing handmade gifts and holiday goodies.

The market is run by an all-volunteer nonprofit dedicated to promoting the Dutch Kerstmarkt tradition while providing a platform for local artisans and craftspeople. It began in 1997 with the dream of bringing a European-style, open-air market to downtown Holland.
