If you're like, "Who the eff is Hanson?", I have one word for you, or non-word rather: "MmmBop".

That's the title of the song by the bubbly blonde trio of brothers that blew teenaged girls minds in 1996.

By 2011, I'm sure the world looked a little different for Hanson, as I'm sure it does for all aging boy bands. So they decided to mix things up, get people talking again. Hanson announced they were putting out an album of Slipknot covers.

According to MTV, right around April 1, 2011, the squeaky-clean Oklahoma trio decided to go metal and release the album in an apparent attempt to channel their inner rage.

“We have always cited classic soul and rock and roll as an inspiration,” drummer Zac Hanson told Shockhound.com. “But we have had longtime respect for heavy metal bands like Slipknot who capture true angst.”

To legitimize the gag, the brothers also released this video of themselves rehearsing a cover of Slipknot’s “Wait and Bleed".

The pop trio also hinted they'd be covering  "Skin Ticket," "The Heretic Anthem" and "People = S**.

Anyway. Some people believed it. Boy, you really got us, Hanson. Happy April Fools' Day.

If you're still wondering who the heck Hanson is... well, here you go. It's "MMMBop". Watch at your own risk.
