Grand Valley Presidents’ Ball Food Given to Families in Need
Even though Grand Valley State University's Presidents' Ball was cancelled due to weather, all the food planned for the event did not go to waste.
GVSU shared in a release that the more than 500 hot meals that had been pre-prepared went to families in need in West Michigan.
The food was distributed at the David D. Hunting YMCA, Godfrey Lee Public Schools, and the Hispanic Center of Western Michigan.
Student Senate President Rachel Jenkin said,
“Even though we weren't able to have the night we were expecting, someone else was able to enjoy an awesome meal and that makes me really proud."
The event had been scheduled for Friday, February 1st at DeVos Place. According to GVSU, the event will not be rescheduled as no other dates were available at DeVos Place.
Anyone who purchased tickets will be reimbursed.
