For the entire month of February, the Grand Rapids Public Library (GRPL) is hosting a series of virtual Black History Month events on their Facebook and YouTube pages.  And among those virtual events are storytimes for you and your kids to enjoy every Saturday morning at 10 am.

This Saturday will be the third installment of Black History Month Storytimes and will feature Black is a Rainbow Color by Angela Joy and illustrated by Ekua Holmes.

Here is the description of the even from GRPL:  "Join GRPL for this virtual series of storytimes! Enjoy books featuring Black characters or that are by Black authors. Participate in sing-alongs, and early literacy tips from a GRPL librarian. Tune in weekly on GRPL’s Facebook Page and YouTube Channel during the month of February."

The previous two installments of Black History Month Storytimes featured Parker Looks Up: An Extraordinary Moment by Jessica and Parker Curry and illustrated by Brittany Jackson, and I Am Every Good Thing by Derrick Barnes and illustrated by Gordon C. James.

In addition to storytimes, GRPL is also hosting several other video series throughout the month of February.  Some of these virtual events are a series of community spotlights, live music, and a slice of life show called Taste of Soul Sunday.  All of those videos are available to watch on the GRPL YouTube Channel.

You can see a complete schedule of events for February on the Grand Rapids Public Library website.
