After less than two years in business, a downtown Grand Rapids juice bar has officially closed its doors.

Shardaira Jones, a certified nutritionist, first opened Road to Revitalize (REV) at 125 Ottawa Ave. NW in September 2024. Located inside the historic Ledyard Building, the Black-owned and women-led spot focused on holistic wellness with the core philosophy that food is your medicine.

More Than Just a Juice Bar

At the shop, you'd find custom cold-pressed juices, pre-ordered 3-day cleanses, acai bowls, fresh salads, artisan wraps, and wellness shots.

REV also built a loyal local following for its "Anti-lush" sober nights, which offered handcrafted mocktails and a vibrant, alcohol-free alternative to traditional downtown nightlife.

Jones recently shared the news about closing the shop on Facebook, taking a moment to thank the community and look back on REV's two-year run.

In her post, she mentioned how what started as a simple juice spot quickly turned into a genuine gathering space for great conversations, encouragement, and community. She talked about how much entrepreneurship taught her about faith, leadership, and resilience, and shared that deciding to close up shop on Ottawa Avenue came after a lot of prayer and reflection. She also left supporters with a nice reminder to keep choosing their health, going after their goals, and showing love to local small businesses across Grand Rapids.

What's Next For REV?

While saying goodbye to the physical shop is definitely a big change, Jones made sure to share how excited she is for whatever comes next and how grateful she is for everyone who came along for the ride.

And it really sounds like this isn't the total end for REV. While the Ottawa Avenue storefront is done, it looks like you might still be able to grab their juices through online ordering and at select local retailers.
