Today (Thursday) a brand new playground for kids will be built by volunteers from Amway in Grand Rapids Park.
Grand Rapids Parks and Recreation director, David Marquardt told FOX-17, "Play is essential to physical, creative, cognitive, social and emotional development of our kids. This new KaBOOM playground will help us attract and welcome families back to Eastern Park."
Eastern Park is located just north of Medical Mile in Grand Rapids.
Volunteers have already begun working on the park and plan to launch a ribbon cutting ceremony at 2:30 p.m.
The manager of Amway Community Relations, David Madiol told FOX-17 that, "This is the 20th playground that Amway and KaBOOM have built to ensure communities have great places for kids and families. Through our partnership, Amway and KaBOOM are creating an oasis where kids feel valued and loved and where their potential is supported, nurtured and celebrated."
