Gas Station Clerk Faces Charges of Attempted Murder Of A Customer
Can you imagine popping into a gas station late at night for a snack only to get shot by the gas station clerk? That is what happened to one Michigan man.
Late Night Gas Stations and Convenience Stores
Being a traveling musician for many years I always saw a late-night gas station or convenience store as a welcomed oasis. Many times it was for something to eat, drink, use the restroom or simply to get an energy drink to extend the drive. One thing that never happened to me was getting shot at by the store clerk.
Detroit Man Shot By Gas Station Clerk
The shooting took place at a Marathon gas station located in Livonia, Michigan on the corner of Plymouth Road and Schaffer Hwy. An innocent man had to be taken to the hospital while a gas station clerk is charged with attempted murder.
WXYZ reported that the victim's name is Tyray Parker. Parker went into the gas station to grab a late-night snack and noticed a group of young men was already in the store causing some major problems for the clerk who was working at the time.
Why Did The Gas Station Clerk Start Shooting?
The group of young men who were already inside the Marathon gas station was stealing potato chips and honey buns and when they started to leave the gas station clerk pulled a gun and started shooting but wound up hitting an innocent man who just came in to buy something.
Security camera shows the clerk running with the gun after the young men who stole from the store. Seconds later he fired at them hitting Parker in the leg instead.
Instead of the clerk calling 911 for help, he told Parker to take whatever he wanted from the store and get out. Parker said he was not with those men and that he needed medical help. Parker then had to wait for the police to arrive in order to get help. You can see the whole incident from WXYZ's YouTube channel right here.
