Police in Holland have shut down the streets around 3 city blocks as they try to fix a gas leak, according to WOODTV.

WOODTV says Pine Avenue between 7th and 10th street and then 9th street between Maple and S. River Avenues are expected to be closed for a few hours while they work to stop the leak.

WOODTV says officials know where the leak is and they are trying to clamp the hose as well as looking for the shut-off valve for the area; they're currently also worried about a gas buildup in the soil. That's the cause of the evacuations.

Three fire departments are currently on scene.
