Educational & Fun! GR Public Museum Offering After School Classes

Even though I would consider myself a nerd and someone who enjoys learning new things, I still remember the feeling of not wanting to go to school and trying to focus. Ever since I was a kid I've always gotten the most out of my education when learning was made fun or interactive because when combined it actually piques interest. With that said, what better place to get that than at the Grand Rapids Public Museum?

Beginning next month, the GRPM will be offering education different drop-in classes for students of different grade levels.

Classes are led by Museum educators who will lead small-group, hands-on learning experiences tied to classroom curriculum objectives.

Different parts of the museum will be utilized depending on the class so kids will be able to get hands-on experience with artifacts, specimens, conduct experiments, and learn about history, science, and culture.

For 3rd to 5th graders, classes will be every Wednesday from 4p-5:30p

Classes for 6-8th grade students will be every Tuesday from 4p-5:30

Amazing Adaptations - 11/17

Get a description on all of the classes here. Each one costs $25 for non-members and $20 for GRPM members.You can register for as many classes as your child is interested in attending. A 10% discount will be applied if you register for all six.

Due to health precautions, classes will be limited to eight individuals, and sorry parents, you don't count.

If your kid(s) started off the school year learning virtually, and everyone at home is starting to go a little stir-crazy, think of this as killing two birds with one stone -- your kids get out of the house for both your sanities and they're learning something.

I love the Public Museum and I enjoy it every time I visit. I think it would be cool if they offered something similar for adults.
