Why do sports make people so stupid?

On Saturday before the UTEP-Texas Tech college football game in El Paso, Texas, a massive fight broke out in a private parking lot where people always park before games and tailgate, KVIA-TV reported.

We can only assume that the fight was sports-related because, you know, college football is super important and worth fighting over. By the way, Texas Tech won 30-26.
