Founders Brewing to Release ‘Call Your Mom’ Ale, New Hazelnut KBS
A lot of us will be stuffing our faces with treats around Valentine's Day, but if beer is more up your alley than candy, Founders Brewing Co. has some sweet-tasting new brews on the way.
Founders Teams Up With Grand Rapids Bakery on New Beer
Founders has announced the next beer in their their Crafted In Michigan Collaboration Series, "Call Your Mom". (Great name, right? I mean, most of us really should... Sorry, Mom! We'll do better!)
The Grand Rapids brewery has teamed up with another local business on the beer - Sweet Batches owned by Kelly and Dave Battjes:
Brewed with vanilla, cinnamon, maple and sea salt – this lightly sweet and savory brown ale is inspired as much by Kelly’s famous vegan cinnamon buns as it is by her dear mother, Tish.
"Call Your Mom" is 7.6% ABV and will be released in 750mL bottles and on draft at Founders Grand Rapids and Detroit taprooms on February 25. Kelly from Sweet Batches will be onsite at Founders GR 1p.m. to 6p.m. selling her homemade pastries and merchandise too.
An interesting tidbit? The "Mom” in "Call Your Mom", Tish, is also the mother of former Founder's taproom manager Amy.
Founders Releasing New KBS Varietal, KBS Hazelnut
Founders' latest addition to their Barrel-Aged Series is KBS Hazelnut.
A variation on Kentucky Breakfast Stout, their beloved Bourbon-Barrel Aged Chocolate Coffee Stout, here's how Founders describes KBS Hazelnut:
The perfectly balanced and decadent drinking experience of KBS meets the classic taste of hazelnut. Taking this bourbon barrel-aged stout to a new level, KBS Hazelnut allows the existing premium coffee and chocolate notes to soar to new heights when accented by the nutty sweetness of hazelnut.
KBS Hazelnut will be available in stores this March. If you'd like to try it sooner, KBS Hazelnut will be on draft at both Founders Taprooms and available in their Company Store this Wednesday, February 16.
If the original KBS is still your favorite, good thing Founders has made it available year-round.
