Founders Brewing Co. and Madcap Coffee have teamed up on Madcask Hazy IPA.

Here's how Founders describes the latest brew in their Crafted In Michigan Collaboration Series:

Heavily inspired by the popular Painkiller cocktail, the addition of cascara (the dried fruit of the coffee cherry), orange, pineapple and coconut with citrusy and tropical hops will have you setting sail for your secret island hideaway without ever leaving the state. 6.6% ABV.

Maybe like me, you're not entirely sure what's in a Painkiller? According to Liquor.com, the cocktail is a twist on the Piña Colada, made with dark rum, pineapple juice, orange juice and cream of coconut. It was created in the 1970s at the Soggy Dollar Bar in the British Virgin Islands.

Madkask Hazy IPA is now on sale at Founders' Grand Rapids and Detroit taprooms. The 750mL bottles are $12. They say the GR taproom is also featuring a "Madcask-ara Shandy".

On another addition to their Crafted in Michigan Collaboration Series, Founders has also partnered with Alexis Sims of Detroit-based Leaf Me Plant Boutique for Align Me Gruit Style Ale:

This rare style incorporates a bouquet of botanicals and an array of herbs to represent each of the 7 Chakras, from root to crown, supported by spicy ginger and hibiscus flowers. 5.8% ABV.

The ale is also available in Founders' Grand Rapids and Detroit taprooms in 750mL bottles.

Founders says both new offerings feature "flavor profiles and attributes we’ve never really fully delved into before".

If you want to try either (or both!) new Michigan-centric beers, you'd better hurry! They're "extremely limited" releases.
