Now, a new contender is taking the spotlight. According to Chowhound, one Michigan diner stands out as “hands-down” the best in the state. The publication looked at social media buzz, online reviews, and shout-outs from both local and national media to make their pick.
And the honor goes to…Dime Store in Detroit.
Dime Store has quickly become a favorite for locals and visitors alike, with locations in Downtown Detroit and Rochester Hills. The restaurant was founded by three friends who wanted a brunch spot that actually cared about the food—no shortcuts, no pretense, just thoughtful, made-from-scratch dishes in a casual, welcoming setting.

As the owners like to say, it’s all about great food, strong coffee, and a bar that’s ready to kick your brunch up a notch.
On the menu you'll find inventive creations like the Reuben Omelet and Double Rainbow Waffle, which is made with Fruity Pebbles and cereal whipped cream. Additional brunch items include benedicts, biscuits and gravy, Brioche French Toast, and hash dishes.
