The Denver Broncos coveted Missouri linebacker Shane Ray and they were willing to trade up with the Detroit Lions to get him with the 23rd pick in this year's NFL Draft.

The Lions traded the 23rd pick of the 2015 NFL Draft to the Broncos for OL Manny Ramirez, the 28th pick and a fifth round pick in this year's draft, and a fifth round pick in next year's draft, according to Pro Football Talk.

With the 28th pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions selected Duke offensive guard Lakin Tomlinson.

It's surprising that the Broncos were willing to give up so much for Ray, considering he's battled both foot problems and off-the-field problems. The Broncos, though, felt that he was one of the top defensive players in the draft, despite those issues.
