Former New York Giants Player From G.R. Missing

A former football player from Grand Rapids who played for the Western Michigan Broncos and the New York Giants has been missing for seven months.

Football Standout Sam Beal

Former defensive back for the New York Giants from Grand Rapids, Sam Beal, played on both sides of the ball when playing for the Ottawa Hills High School team. Beal grew up in the Kalamazoo area before moving to Grand Rapids to attend high school in Ottawa Hills.

After graduation Beal committed to Western Michigan University to play football for the Broncos.  Beal was named Second-team All-Mid-American Conference (MAC) in 2017. Just before his senior year, he elected to enter the NFL Draft and was selected in the third round by the New York Giants.

Beal was plagued with injuries in his three-year career with the New York Giants. Beal only played in nine games for the Giants, and opted out of the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He was released from the Giants in 2021, but played for the team's practice squad for his last NFL job.

A family member of Beal recently made a post on social media stating no one has seen or heard from him for seven months.

Authorities Seek Missing G.R. Player Who Played for Giants

According to WOOD, Sam Beal has allegedly been missing for seven months. Beal was last seen by his girlfriend on July 12, and she last heard from him on July 13. The girlfriend said Beal was supposed to go to work but instead drove to Virginia Beach in Virginia. She said he told her on the phone he would be back that day, and has not been seen or heard from since.

Beal's girlfriend said, "Samuel did not bring anything with him aside from the clothes he was wearing, a pair of slides, and his wallet that contained his banking card and driver's license."  The vehicle was found in Virginia Beach by one of his girlfriend's family members where Beal's shoes and socks were found on the passenger seat with sand on the floor.

The case has been filed with the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System.
