For the second time this season, the Detroit Lions have cut their kicker. The team announced Monday that they have released kicker Alex Henery following a loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday (that could have been prevented, had Henery made even one of the three field goals he missed during the game).

The three missed field goals in Sunday's game upped Henery's total number of missed kicks in his short two-game stint with the Lions to four.

The Lions will be working out kickers on Tuesday, but it's unclear who they are looking at to fill the role that was long held by Jason Hanson.

Many fans are hoping for the addition of former Denver Broncos kicker Matt Prater who is 142 for 176 in his seven year career in the NFL and actually got his start with the Detroit Lions back in 2006.
