If you travel into, out of, or have a layover at the Detroit airport it's a nice feeling knowing you're at one of the best... not only in the country but in all of North America!

Every year, the Airports Council International release the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards where they recognize different airports all over the world. For 2018, Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) was recognized as one of the best airports by size and region that cater between 25 and 40 million passengers/year.

The CEO of Wayne County Airport Authority told WXYZ Detroit that

Our internal departments, along with our airline partners, tenants and federal partners continue to raise the bar regarding customer service.

In addition, the airport has added 9 nursery rooms and has continued to expand their food and beverage options. In a news release from last year, Jolly Pumpkin & Atwater will be two of several restaurants opening soon in the North Terminal, which has undergone a $21 million renovation.

While not mentioned, I personally think the musical LED Tunnel, in the McNamara terminal, makes for a way better traveling experience.

Minneapolis/St. Paul International was the only other North American airport recognized [in the same category as DTW] for being the best.
