According to a release from the Kent County Sheriff's Office, police were doing a welfare check at a home in the 500 block of Sunbrook Dr. SE in Cutlerville around 2p.m. when they found deceased male inside.

Detectives were summoned to the home to investigate. While they were there, a subject arrived in a vehicle near the residence being investigated.

The detective was taken to an area hospital and is in stable condition.

The suspect, a 19-year-old male, is currently in custody.

KCSO says the initial death is under investigation. Anyone with information about the death of the male inside the home to call the KCSO at 616-632-6125, or call Silent Observer at 616-774-2345 to report anonymously.
