
Michigan Man Charged With Sex-Crime Allegedly Shoots His 3 Kids
A father in Port Huron, Michigan, was charged with exposing himself to a child at a local daycare. Before he could be sentenced for the crime, he allegedly shot 3 of his kids.
A Port Huron man, facing a year in jail and mandatory sex offender registration for exposing himself to a child, may have attempted to cover up additional crimes by allegedly shooting his three children before his sentencing.
Port Huron Father Charged With Sex Crime
His name is Jeffery Smerer, 44, who was supposed to be sentenced for a sex crime involving exposure to a child last Thursday. The judge overseeing the case mentioned in court that Smerer had no remorse for exposing himself to the young child.

The victim's mother says her daughter will suffer lasting trauma and now has to see a therapist weekly moving forward.

Instead of accepting punishment for his crime, Smerer allegedly committed an even more heinous act.
Michigan Father Charged Now Charged With Allegedly Shooting 3 Of His Kids
According to CBS News Detroit, Smerer allegedly shot and killed his 17-year-old son while wounding his 13-year-old son, and a shot struck his 12-year-old daughter, leaving her paralyzed from the neck down
Police say they were called to an apartment building after several reports of gunshots were made. Officers also indicated that Smerer may have allegedly caused more terror if not for the children's mother and his 20-year-old wrestling him down to the ground.
Smerer was charged with homicide, two counts of assault with intent to murder, two counts of first-degree child abuse, and five separate gun charges.

Smerer was denied bond and is looking at life in prison if convicted.
