Could MSU Be in For a Rude Awakening Regarding Mel Tucker Firing?
Former Michigan State University head coach Mel Tucker has been saying all along his conversation with Brenda Tracy was consensual and now his lawyers have receipts.
Mel Tucker's Time at Michigan State
Mel Tucker was selected as the head coach of the Michigan State University football team in February 2020.
Tucker led MSU to only 2 victories in 2020 but a fantastic turnaround in 2021 when the team went 11-2. That was the biggest turnaround for any head coach in MSU history.
After winning the Peach Bowl in 2021, everyone believed Tucker would be the guy for years to come but because of what appeared to be an inappropriate phone call, he is out of a job in 2023. Did MSU jump the gun on this one?
Could There be a Rude Awakening for MSU for the Tucker Firing?
Tucker allegedly had an inappropriate phone call with a rape victim who was an advocate who had spoken with the Spartans football team about how they treat women. Her name is Brenda Tracy and during this time she and Tucker became friends.
Tracy made a complaint that a call between her and Tucker was inappropriate and made claims of sexual misconduct that mentioned he was masturbating while on the phone with her. All along Tucker had said this was a consensual conversation that Tracy was on. Now Tucker's lawyers have the receipts which seem to back up his story and put doubt on Tracy's story with witness testimony.
Tuckers Attorneys Have the Receipts
According to WOOD, attorneys have receipts in the form of texts showing that Tracy allegedly manipulated a key witness, MSU, Tucker, and the public and did this for financial gain.
Tucker's lawyers have nearly 110 pages of documents that were presented to the MSU Board of Trustees which is a complete contradiction of the story Tracy made claims on. A witness has testified under oath and to investigators that Tracy and Tucker were in a relationship so things are about to get even weirder as this investigation moves forward.
If this all turns out to be true, Michigan State could be in for a rude awakening in the form of a massive lawsuit if Tucker's lawyers prove he was telling the truth the whole time and they fired him based on false allegations. Grab some popcorn sit back and watch as this drama continues to unfold.
