This Michigan Beach Ranked Among 25 Best in the Entire Country

Surrounded by four of the five Great Lakes and with more than 11,000 inland lakes, Michigan is rich with incredible beaches. One has been ranked among the top 25 in the U.S.!

Michiganders know that our home state has some of the best beaches in the world - but for those not from here, the Mitten State can often get overlooked.

When it comes to amazing beaches, people often only think of states on the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, forgetting that Michigan has the nation's longest freshwater coastline. That's why it's nice to see at least on Michigan location on Travel and Leisure's list of the country's 25 best beaches - though honestly, there should be more!

The travel publication notes that the criteria for a perfect beach is different for different people. Some people are looking for huge waves and bustling activity, others for calm waters and seclusion. So the beaches on their list range from surf havens to family beaches, to quiet, tucked away coastal havens.

Travel and Leisure's Michigan beach ranked among the 25 best in the nation is Grand Haven State Park.

The 48-acre park on Lake Michigan offers plenty of room for activities like camping, fishing, fat-tire biking, grilling, sunbathing, swimming, and volleyball.

There's also a playground, plus gorgeous views of the lake and the Grand Haven South Pier and Lighthouses.
