Clear The Shelters 2023
NBCUniversal Local is once again teaming up with hundreds of shelters across the country to host Clear The Shelters in August 2023, a nationwide pet adoption and donation campaign that helps find loving homes for animals in need.
More than 860,000 pets have found their forever homes since 2015.
The event runs through August 31, 2023.

More than 15 locations across Michigan are participating in Empty the Shelters July 11 through July 31, 2022.

Note that shelter requirements vary per location and adoption fees may vary.
At Kent County Animal Shelter in Grand Rapids, for example, all dog adoptions are $17.
