Beer Prices Going Up and Where’s the Money Really Going? FBHW Segment 16

Today on Segment 16, the guys talk about the tax on beer going up, the shadiness behind it and the opposition to the hike, and the business behind the scenes crap. Where's the money REALLY going?

Tom Hooker, who has knocked on Free Beer's door a few times...we're not quite sure exactly why...has introduced legislation to raise the tax on beer to five cents on twelve ounces. The tax on beer in Michign hasn't changed since 1966.

This is to help fund health and treatment programs associated with the consumption of alcohol, as well as leading to a decrease in alcohol-related crimes. In theory. In reality...not sure what's really going to happen to the money.

The Michigan Chamber is one of the groups urging vote against the tax, arguing it contains a 250% increase in Michigan's beer tax, which would put Michigan in a bad situation compared to other states. Wait, what?
