Attempted Robbery Leaves 2 Shot

Two citizens wound up shot Tuesday morning just outside of a bank near Kalamazoo in an attempted robbery.

According to WOOD TV, the robbery and shooting took place at the Fifth Third Bank location on Gull Road in Comstock Township, northeast of Kalamazoo. The incident happened just after 2 a.m.

Kalamazoo County Undersheriff, James VanDyken, told WOOD-TV that the shooting occurred during what appears to be an attempted robbery that was outside of a Fifth Third Bank location. Investigators that are working the crime scene are trying to determine of this particular robbery happened at the ATM machine or if this was somehow drug related.

The two victims that were shot were hospitalized but released with non-life threatening injuries.
