A pole-dancing studio in Milwaukee is facing backlash from a local priest who believes that pole-dancing is, essentially, a gateway to working in the sex industry and sex trafficking.

Studio Paramour has been open in Beaver Dam, WI for about four months and offers pole-dancing classes as a way for women to get in shape in a non-traditional way, but in a way that also bolsters their confidence. But last week, the owner received a letter in the mail from a local priest voicing his disapproval of the business. The priest essentially said that by offering such classes, women were being exploited and that they could be forced to work in the sex industry. What?!
