COVID-19 in Michigan

As a state, Michigan has been improving with its overall COVID-19 cases dropping in half recently.

But there are still some areas of concern, especially if you plan on traveling around the state anytime soon with your family or friends.

With gas prices high, staycations will be on the rise and Michigan has a lot to offer Michiganders in their home state but there are a few areas you may need to mask up if you plan on going there or passing through.

5 Michigan Counties Where You Still Need to Wear a Mask

A lot of people enjoy riding their motorcycles around the Mitten State. Others like to enjoy the outdoors, from camping, swimming, fishing, the amazing parks, you name it. Others sometimes need an airport to fly out to another destination. Whatever your reason for moving around Michigan, there are five counties that are still considered hot spots for the COVID-19 virus.

There is only one problem county in Michigan's Upper Peninsula and that is Mackinac County. You enter this county as soon as you cross the Mackinac Bridge.

Mid-Michigan only has one county with high COVID-19 cases, Saginaw County. There are a lot of fisherman from all over the state that travels to this county to get after those walleye that are in the Saginaw Bay.

There are three counties in southeast Michigan that are currently COVID-19 hot spots but these shouldn't be a surprise since they host the biggest populations and have been problems ever since the pandemic began. Those counties are Oakland, Washtenaw, and Wayne.

MLive reports that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say if work, family, or fun take you to any of these three counties you should wear masks while indoors and in public.
