Car aficionados and lovers... it's back!

Due to the pandemic, the popular 28th Street Metro Cruise was forced to cancel in 2020... the first time since its inception in 2005, but it's returning this August on the 27th and 28th.

The event which features a bunch of cool and classic cars will be held at the main site at Rogers Plaza in Wyoming but, new this year, Woodland Mall's parking lot has also been added as a site. The All-GM show is scheduled for Saturday morning the 28th and participants can enter their car for $15. The public is free to attend.

President of the Wyoming-Kentwood Chamber of Commerce told WOOD-TV about their decision to expand the cruise.

Our group has been researching this expansion for the past couple years, and the time is now right.  This move allows us to have an official presence on the east side of 28th Street, while easing the very high attendance at the Main Event at Rogers Plaza location.

20 different food vendors, including food trucks, will be present; which makes my stomach happy because I always love getting a lemonade and walking taco when I go to the Cruise. It's almost become a little tradition of mine. In addition, there will be an area for kids to play and five local bands.

According to the Metro Cruise's website, the expect to attract about 100,000 people and 400 cars in this two-day weekend. The entire thing will be held outdoors and people are to properly social distance. Stay updated on the latest news leading up to the event on their website or Facebook page.
