John Ball Zoo: Zoo Goes Boo (10/16-18 & 23-25) *Family Friendly*

10 a.m. - 3p.m.

This is an annual family-friendly event at the John Ball Park Zoo! This event will feature over-the-top decorations, costumed characters and over 20 booths. Games! Prizes! Magic! Music!  Special animal activities and so much more!  Bring your bees, pirates, princesses, and bears to BOO!!!

Halloween: The Musical Parody (10/22-25, 29-31 & 11/1)

This performance based on the John Carpenter original story of killer Michael Myers, is being put on by the theater company, Stark Turn Players. Although you won't see the gore as you do in the Halloween movies it's still a show that will have you sitting at the edge of your seat. The best part is there's multiple dates to choose from!

Hallowe-Ones (10/23) *Family Friendly*

Friday, October 23rd; 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

If you're looking for a day of just straight up fun, and no scares, dress your kid in a costume that represents the Children's Garden at the Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park. Participate in a costume parade and listen to Halloween-themed stories.

Trunk or Treat (10/24) *Family Friendly*

Saturday, October 24th; 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

This is a free family event at the Veteran's Memorial Park in Kentwood. Dress up and get treats at decorated car trunks.

The event will also include hayrides, game prizes, cider & doughnuts and more fun!

Haunted Hall Bash 9 (10/24)

This party is back for its 9th year at 6th St Hall in Grand Rapids. This year's theme is horror movies so be sure to dress like your favorite character! In addition to drink specials and entertainment; food, a photo booth, an oxygen bar and a costume contest will all be included in the festivities.

Trunk or Treat at Keller Williams Rivertown (10/29) *Family Friendly*

Thursday, October 29th; 6-8 p.m.

If you're looking for your kid(s) to have a fun and safe trick-or-treating experience this is the right event! Vendors and area-businesses around Grandville will be there, with their trunks, decked out in Halloween gear passing sweets and treats out to the kids.

The Murder Mystery Company (10/30-11/1)

The right place for food, fun and murder! The Murder Mystery Company is offering a three-night Halloween special "Murder at the Masquerade" at Pietro’s Italian Restaurant. Tickets are $60 and be purchased on the company website.

Night With the Opera: A Halloween Gala (10/30)

The Opera Grand Rapids kicks off the season with a halloween gala and a performance of Requiem. The night will include:

...a unique selection of savory Creole cuisine, cocktails, classical-crossover compositions and live entertainment featuring breathtaking acrobatic feats, plus an afterglow party with the stars of Requiem."

Halloween On Ionia (10/31)

This is definitely an event to add to your calendar if you're looking for something to do at any point of the day or before you head out for your evening plans. It's the 3rd annual street party on Ionia brought to you by BarFly Events. It starts at 3pm and goes until midnight. The event will feature a Michigan craft beer tent, entertainment, food from HopCat and Grand Rapids Brewing Company, and a costume party with a 1st place cash prize of $3,000! The event is expected to draw about 10,000 people so you know it's going to be a good time!

Tickets are only $15 and will go on sale Saturday, September 26th at the HOI Official Ticket Release Party being held at McFadden's from 4-11 p.m.
