One person is killed in Montcalm county in a single vehicle crash, another is injured in Grand Rapids with the vehicle catches on fire.

Just recently I moved to the area and I'm astonished at all the automobile crashes there are here on a daily basis. Obviously there is a bigger population from where I moved from but I'm used to crashes being related to bad weather.

I was browsing WOOD TV this morning and saw a pair of crashed posted.

Sadly today a single vehicle crash let to a person being killed this morning in Montcalm County.

The Michigan State Police didn't release any info on the crash other than it was deadly and happened near the intersection of Douglas and Tamarack roads in Richland Township just before 7 a.m. this morning.

It is still unknown at this time what led to the crash.

A second crash this morning happened just before 7 a.m. in Grand Rapids near the intersection of Michigan Street and Ottawa Avenue in the city's Medical Mile.

The vehicle wound up catching on fire and a one person did get injured. There is no report at this time at the extent of the injuries and what actually caused the vehicle to catch on fire.

This crash is still being investigated.

Coming from someone who reads traffic reports everyday and really gets an understanding of just how many crashes there are daily in the area, I just ask that people, please take your time getting to and from where you are going. More importantly, watch out for the other vehicles. Be safe and have a great weekend.
